My images from the swamps and wetlands of Florida never seen to enjoy as many views as majestic mountains, but I still feel these areas hold tremendous beauty. This was taken more than a mile from the nearest road or trail in Big Cypress National Preserve...simply out in the middle of open space. "There is pleasure in the pathless woods..."

In this image the setting sun is balanced by a blooming bromeliad (Tillandsia sp.)

You are right, Florida does have a lot of tremendous beauty. I sure hope you got to visit some of our other beautiful spots while in FL.

whoa this is a beautiful picute ^^ i lovehow you captured the sun between the trees :D and that the light of the sun is allmost the same color as the flower ^^ very well done!

The most beautiful thing about this image to me is its actual "wildness"... No one cuts a limb off when it breaks, no one clears a path as things grow the way they want to. You can see all the effects of weather and wind. The bromeliad and the sun just make it that much better.:)

Love that foreground flower, and the sunburst really helps balance the shot as well.
