Fritillary Flower

A Variegated Fritillary visits a Black-sampson Echinacea/Purple coneflower in the final hour of daylight...a last refueling before settling in for the night. This is just one of those classic tallgrass prairie flowers. I was really happy that a few were still in bloom during my visit towards the end of June.
